Posted on 03 June 2008 by Arun

Remember we are going to place a icon and not a shortcut.by doing this we can access the “internet options” and “Start Without Add-ons” by right clicking on it, which will not be on a shortcut.

To do this,

1. Open regedit.exe using the Start menu search box.

2. Navigate to the following key.

3. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel

4. In the right hand pane, add a new 32-bit DWORD value with the following name and value:

5. Key Name: {871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}

Value: 0

6. Refresh to see the icon.
