In order to Change the “Default Wallpaper folder” to the “My pictures” folder you can follow the below trick in order to use your own images right from the “Desktop Properties“.
To do this
1. Click on the “Start” Button.
2. Open the “Run” menu from it and type “regedit.exe” in order to bring the registry editor.
3. Then navigate down to the following key.
4. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
5. On the Right hand side you should see a value called “WallPaperDir“. If the key does not exist, then you can create a new string value with the same name.
6. Double click on the value to change the path to your My Pictures folder. (or any other folder)
7. If you dont want the images present already in the list, You can delete these images to make them stop appearing in the wallpaper selection list from the c:\windows.
