Windows Vista will always display a number of shortcuts for the recently used programs in the Start menu.If you feel the amount of them is less or more, you can always increase or decrease the amount of shortcuts displayed. To do this,
1. Click the “Start” button.
2. Select “Control Panel“.
3. Select “Appearance and Personalization“.
4. Click “Taskbar and Start menu“.
5. Select the “Start Menu” tab.
6. Click “Customize“.
7. Enter the Number of programs you want to display in the “Number of Recent Program to Display” Box.
8. Click “Ok“.
